Year 6 Team Building Activity

At the end of this Term we took part in a Year 6 Team building challenge in the Auditorium.  We had to work together to build a bridge that was wide enough for a ball to pass through and strong enough to hold a dictionary.

Dear Oliver and Miss Tizard,

Thank you for sending us your interesting email about pollution and how it is weakening the Ozone Layer around  New Zealand.  We didn’t know that it was a big problem around New Zealand and we also  didn’t know that in New Zealand you have a really high risk of getting sunburn.

In Room 21 we have been learning about soil.  We have been learning about how it produces life to humans and how it can give us air to breath.  Did you know that soil is one of the four things we can’t live without.  We also can’t live without water, sun and air.  There are four layers of soil.  They  are topsoil, subsoil, weathered rock and bedrock. They are all important for our survival.

Thank you for reading and  we hope you’ve learnt some facts about soil.

Youth Town Hockey Skills

This Term we have been working with Youth Town sports and learning different hockey skills.

About The Artist

About the Artist Javier is 10 years old.  He lives in Pakuranga, Auckland. He is a Year 6 student at Elm Park School.  He has been attending  Elm Park for 6 years now. His favourite subjects at school are Spelling, P.E, Reading and Writing. Javier's favourite art piece is his eye art because he tried to make his artwork look cool and unique.  He made it stand out by varnishing it.  His favourite thing about painting the eye art was mixing the colours.  The school values that Javier has been using are initiative and perseverance. He loves to watch a Youtuber called Jacksepticeye because he plays cool and scary games that are funny. The future jobs that Javier wants are being a Paleontologist and a Soldier.

Learning Refection

I am learning to write in third person.

I am so proud of being able to write in third person.

It can be tricky to write in third,second and first person because it sometimes I could write instead of He or Him I would just write I or Me.
My buddy's,my Teacher and other people can help me with my learning.
The next step for me might be to write more and more in third person so I can get better at it.
