SALT Spelling Strategy

Learning Reflection
I am learning to use the SALT spelling strategy.
I am so proud of being able to use this method to do my learning.
It can be tricky to find the syllables and find the structure.
Who can help me? myself or a buddy can help me.
The next step for me might be to use a different method either than the SALT spelling strategy.

 The End...

It is 3:30am. I’m crammed into a landing boat with forty other soldiers. I asked silently what the date was and my buddy James whispered quietly “Its the 25th of April 1915”.

I  could feel the breeze like someone was blowing in my face. I could tell the other soldiers were nervous because of their expressions. I was pumped with adrenaline, like someone drugged me with some pills. I could smell something strong like gasoline but it was just the smell of strong gunpowder from our rifles.

By the time we got closer and closer I got more and more scared. Suddenly a spark of light from one of the steam boats lit up the sky. Bullets started raining like hail.

Sadly my friend James was shot in the neck.  Blood was pouring out of him. I was shaking uncontrollably when he died. Then I felt an incredible pain in my leg.  I figured I was shot. I fell out of the boat so I couldn’t fire my weapon.  I tried to drag and drag to cover but it was no use.

This was the end I thought. I saw millions of ANZAC’s lying right beside me. And I knew this was the end. I was going to die then… I felt wet hands of an ANZAC soldier pull me to shore and into cover. Then I thought perhaps it’s not the end……

Reflection
I am learning to write a recount about ANZAC.
I am so proud of being able to write a recount about the things that happened at ANZAC.
It can be tricky to come up with sentences and use correct punctuation.
Who can help me? My teacher and my classmates can help me with my learning.
The next step for me might be to use better punctuation and use more paragraphs.
